Maybe depends what you get?

We got a few pairs of glasses between us last August/September. I hadn't bought any at home for years so had nothing to compare them to, since I only wear them when reading for long periods of time and have only a weak prescription.

My mum, however, got one new pair, and new lenses in some existing frames she wanted to keep and it cost her less than one pair at home. I don't know the prices involved, but I do know she was very happy with the savings.

Dad got one or two pair, I'm not sure. He went for the basic discounted frames and got them much cheaper than he would have at home.

Maybe it comes down to which frames you choose - both at home and in Bali? I paid around $200 for mine but I lashed out because I could get designer frames much cheaper than I would at home. Had I bought glasses at home, I would have gone for the cheaper end of the frames, since I don't wear them often or in public. So I probably didn't save anything, but I got something much nicer than I would have, for probably similar cost.
