to get the lenses made in Australia to see just how much they will charge to fit them in outside frames. I bought frames for myself and Daughter in Bali last year and my Optometrist here charged me $90 on top of the cost of the lenses to "fit" them into the Bali frames! Didn't turn out to be cheaper after all! I also have a very complicated script and didn't want to take the risk of having the wrong one made up over there. When we went this year I priced up my script with transitions lenses and it was not much cheaper - not enough to be worth it for me. This was with Optik Melawi though - I only got the one price. I got my Daughter frames and lenses over there at OM this year too and it wasn't much cheaper than here but the frames were certainly better quality than here for what we paid. Kids frames here are a lot more flimsier so it was worth it to get a set to hopefully "cope" with her exploits!
