Yes it is a hidden gem...up at Penestanan (?)...owned by an ex Aussie man, Warwick Purser, who has written books I think on Interior Design .He lives behind property which is mananged by Mendez (Indonesian)...it is all sprawled out through gardens, very very quiet, but if you are looking to chill out, this is it. Most of the property seems to be two storey villas, and you can rent just upstairs which I did..which was a lovely old fashioned verandah looking over gardens and private..floor to ceiling glass walls three sides and a bathroom, from which while sitting on loo, early morning, I could see ducks waddling through cleaning rice paddies. I only stayed two nights, twice in last two years, just to get away from Kuta.
5 mins by car out of Ubud central and further up the hill past where you turn off at the river to get to D'Omah..is huge bintang supermarket...I personally was very happy , think they may have own spa there as well, no But it is quiet.
