Decided to bring a bike this trip, and this has opened up a whole new world of back streets, lanes and places not seen before.
We had 2 X 30Kg luggage coming over, and used all of it.
The bike was in addition to this, and paid the required $20 for "sporting equipment".
The only slight drama was that it wouldn't pass through the X ray at DPS....no problem just walk it around the machine.
Yesterday, did the length of Jalan Imam Bonjol and worked around to emerge on Sunset Rd.
The only reservation is the obvious regarding traffic (and the fact that a bicycle is bottom of the food chain!)is that you really need a good quality bike with heavy duty tyres and some sort of xsuspension helps too.
This morning, down to Kuta Sq, art market, beach path, airport, back lanes to the rear of Bakung Sari, and round to central Kuta....and all before 7am, a great time of the day.
Businesses all seem to be doing OK but strangely sporadic....full one night and empty the next.
Accomodation seems to be quite tight, only one room available at La Walon this week and nothing at Masa.
Anyway....of to La Luch. for b'fast and hoping to catch up with an old friend later.....See ya.
