I am an ex Police Offcier from Western Australia of 18 years and was travelling alone. I booked through a travel agent who certainly should be aware of the goings on but anyway. I like to think I am hardened to crime so am glad it was me and not another female who would have been far more traumatised by the incident.....my wounds will eventually heal but many thanks to Barbara an expat and Andrew there as I would have been a bit lost of support otherwise. I won't be travelling overseas alone again thats for sure as you need support and the consulate wasn't great!
