purchased her ticket, then insurance will cover it as she can't travel. Insurance will reimburst her the airfare and accomadation if you have already booked and paid for it.
My sister's mother in law has done this 2 times as she got sick twice prior to travel. Letter from the doctor is required with why she can no longer travel.
