AAX Premium economy seats are nothing like Thai, SIA, Malaysian and Jetstar Starclass business class... but then the price was much cheaper. I understand seat pitch on AAX economy is 29".
We pushed the boat out and flew MEL-KL leg on Premium economy and it's my opinion that for us it would have been cheaper and more comfortable to fly economy with Thai, or Malaysia (then onto our destination which was Penang) Both those airlines have 34" economy seats and are full service.
We are giving V Australia a go next October. MEL-HKT direct :-)
