If you leave you Aussie sim card in for any reason, be very careful about "Free Wi-Fi". It's only free till you get home to an account from Telstra for thousands of dollars, if you've not turned you data roaming off. And I wasnt opening emails, it was just trying to hook up to wi-fi and I was being charged.
What the difference is with leaving data roaming on when you have a Bali simcard in I'm not sure...I'm sure its dramatically cheaper, but how successfully and at what price you download your emails, I'm not even game to try after I learnt my lesson.
Just a word of warning. Best to use laptops or internet cafe's I think for emails etc
