Thanks for your reply. After posting I realised that one of the differences between the 2 properties Im considering is that the Alam Gili rooms quoted (Garden Rooms) are fan cooled - not AC. I emailed them to ask if the garden rooms got a sea breeze and they replied that July is very hot especial in Gili Island and they recommended the Deluxe Mahi - Mahi room (for $US75 + 15% tax)which does have AC. However I see in many posts that often the AC doesnt work on the Gilis due to power cuts?
Can I ask what room you stayed in as since Alam Gili has such a variety of rooms its hard to make comparisons based on recommendations without knowing which room everyone is taking about :-)
