Denpasar City is much maligned by some as "smelly and dirty"...which in fact it is in many parts!
However, it is a great way to see "Asia" and does show another side of life in Bali.
On the Kumbasari Pasar side, there is a Chinese restaurant just at the entrance from the main Rd. (where traffic goes over the bridge)
Although large and often empty, this is a great place for a cold Bintang and a hot spicy snack, and positioned to buy the very freshest of local produce.
The operators are a Chinese family.
