... the give all parents / children a bad reputation! Unfortunately this sort of behaviour seems to be more & more common - and not just on planes and overseas! I'm proud to be a "mean mum" and on our first trip to Bali with the kids we spent quite some time beforehand preparing the kids for what to expect and in particular what type of behaviour we expected! There was also some mention of the consequences if they didn't behave (no I would never have left them behind at the orphanage LOL)
Anyway getting to Bali (from NZ) is marathon (up at 3am and arriving at Bali well after midnight NZ time) and of course several times I had to use that 'glare' that parents know all too well so by the time we got to the luggage collection at DPS I was quite frankly exhausted but it was all so worth it when a woman came up to me and said she had been sitting behind the kids and had been most unimpressed to be seated by children but felt she had to come and tell me that enroute they had behaved 500% better than the adults behind her!
Since then we have flown overseas 4 or 5 times with the kids and the cabin crew frequently comment on their good behaviour which is great for any parent to hear - but even better is that the crew do recognise the kids and on most flights they have been given 'treats' - extra meals, games, hot chocolate drinks etc :-) I guess (sadly) the bogan kids (and their parents) don't know what they are missing!
