Urgent Passport Question

Do you need 6 months on your passport from the time of entree into Bali or 6 months on your passport from your scheduled departure date. From my internet reseach, Im reading different rules. We arrive on the 3rd August and from that date (3rd August) my children have 6 months and 4 days left on there passport.
