a big thanks to all the people to helped me put my trip to bali together. i feel compelled to write about my driver which i paid 300,000 rupees per day for. Before i went away i was given information regarding the standard of a driver in bali i.e. substandard = paying low rates.
if you pay 300,000 rupees you will only get what you pay for (non speaking English old van, no guide, no bali information, no communication)
let me start with saying that my driver and his family were one of the best things about our bali trip. when we arrived both he and his wife met us off the plane prompt carried our cases into a lovely brand new 7 seater van with our own back seat air con. controls.
our driver and his wife had spent ten years in australia so his communication skills were far and above most of the people we met in bali, he not only understood the bali way but also the western way.
he was charming funny and interlectual prompt always listened to us took us to many places that were off the beaten track. we paid him 300,000 a day, we even went back to his house to meet his family, was shown around his house, had a balinese dinner cooked for us (how many people have done this with their driver). we spoke about the rate and as we had used him nearly every other day he was more than happy to receive my 300,000 plus because of our enjoyment and great benefits of our driver 50,000 tip each day. 200,000 for half day. We had spoken to many people throughout our trip who had paid 500,000 rp per day and had drivers who never spoke to them, were rude, so maybe i have found a niche in the market which are now my friends Yuli and Ketut whom i can highly recommend so that you can have not only a holiday but a great holiday and know that you are helping out one of the best drivers you will find on this island.
i dont recommend anybody as you can see by my previous listings but because of the controversy this caused before i went away and feel i am more than happy to put this forward knowing that anyone that used this family will have a holiday of a life time.
