"A "211" visa is NOT valid for a 6 month stay, but for 60 days only, except in accordance with authorisation from Immigration Authority. Authorisation can be given for an extension, according to the law in 3 of the 4 cases the visa kunjungan has been delivered.
If the visa has been delivered for:
- inter-governmental issues,
- business purposes,
- social or cultural reasons.
It can be extended.
*******However, an extension of the Visa Kunjungan should not be granted if the visa has been delivered for:
- tourism purpose*******
The Visa Kunjungan (211) can be extended up to 5 times (meaning up to 7 months), each time for 30 days. This does not mean an automatic acceptance from immigration for an extension of the visa. It is a request made by th applicant, his/her sponsor or his/her representant. The acceptance or the refusal of the extension are however not based on subjective criterias and any refusal MUST be given in the form of a written statement (named Surat Keterangan Penolakan) listing the reason(s) why the extension has been refused and remitted to the applicant and/or his/her sponsor. The applicant or the sponsor in return has the choice to accept the refusa or to challenge it if there is ground for it.
The first two extensions require an acceptance of the Kantor Imigrasi. (Personal appreciation: Very easy to get on your own)
The third and the fourth extension require an acceptance of the Kantor Imigrasi+the Kantor Kanwil. (personal appreciation: still easy to get on your own but requires a bit of time since you will have to to the "courrier" in between KanIm and KanWil)
The very exceptionnel fifth extension, requires the acceptance of the Kantor Imigrasi+the Kantor Kanwil+the Ditjen Imigrasi in JKT. Not to say that it is mere impossible to get it.
The legal fee for each extension is IDR 250.000 (all inclusive )"
