My wife and I are planning to stay at either the Kupu Kupu Barong or Villa Semana in September. We are considering either the Duplex Pool Villa at Kupu Kupu or the River View Pool Villa at Villa Semana. Both look incredible, however the Villa Semana is $600 cheaper for the 4 night stay. Since we are travelling from New York and this is our big vacation for the year, we want to make sure we are happy. Does anybody have recent feedback from their stay at either or have seen both? I understand that Kupu Kupu is a 5 star resort and have read that Villa Semana is a 2 star. While the kupu kupu seems to have a better view, is it really worth $600? Any advices greatly appreciated?
