Hey , flossie I am also married to a balinese man,and this July it will be 13 years for us like Shellmang in Perth. I too converted to the Hindu faith as part of the lead up to our marraige Iwas previously a catholic.Iam wondering if Shellmang had her teeth filing ceremony done as well, I was pregnant at the time so it was not done so I've yet to get it done, next time my daughters' ceremomies come around it will be considered.Bieng married to a Hindu is a wonderful experience,I've yet to get afull grasp on this beautiful religion the book that Shellmang suggested is a great read, it really gives you agood insight to this religion. An importtant fact to remember when marrying a Bali guy is be prepared to share him , by this I mean his religious and family/banjar committments will be strong (as my hubby is) especially around festivals like Galungan(Bali xmas) and kuningan(yellow day)and temple birthdays and ceremonies, whenwe first were married sometimes he'd go to the local Banjar(community) for hours so much time is spent going solo so to speak but if your man's family are as wonderful as mine you'll never feel alone.I'd love to chat with either you our Shellmang on your experiences with your bali boys, please feel free to e-mail me chakkstra@hotmail.com.Good luck to the both of you,it only gets better I tell you.
