it was a zoo owner, who owns a zoo south west of Perth. This was the article:

"Today Tony ( Peel Zoo ) visited the Safari Park in Bali with Merriot Clifford director of the newspaper, Animal People.
There are heaps of activities. The animal circus includes birds riding bikes and raising flags. There is also an elephant show however Tony has not mentioned what the elephants do.
He said the animals look to be well fed.
Patting the orangutan and lion cub have proved to be popular events with hundreds of people lining up to pat and have their picture taken with them. Two hours after Tony first saw the cub, the little cub was still available to be handled by visitors.
Mrs Esther Manansang, one of the zoo owner's daughters, explained that the cubs need to be sedated so that visitors can be educated about them by being able to get up close without fear of being harmed."

It goes on to say the cubs are given Rompin and Ketamine drugs which are hallucinogenics and relaxants.

Why should animals be drugged just so tourists can "be educated about them by being able to get us close".

Sorry but they won't get my money.....
