If the wooden drum has rawhide covering the top it will have to be treated, so depending on how much she likes her drum, she can declare it and then hand it over to customs to get it treated.As for any other musical instuments if they are like marraca type things, they are usually filled with seeds, they will be confiscated, if she dosn't want to chuck them in the bin i'm sure a local child would be quite pleased with a musical present!Any thing that is just made out of wood should be fine, just make sure you give them a few taps to make sure no little bugs have made their home in there.
