My husband and i take in cash what we estimate we'll need for the first week of the holiday. The rest we deposit on travelex cash passport.
We leave a third of the cash in the safe. I carry on my person what we estimate we'll need for the day. My husband has the rest in a money-belt hidden under his clothes.
In other words there's only ever 2 days spending money left in the safe
One week later we withdraw from travelex enough money for another week and as above again. So far it's worked out very well.
