checking for cheap flights xmas/new year

trying to find cheap flights around 29th dec return 5th jan
thinking of taking very quick trip for friends 50th birthday
on new years eve.
syd -denp perfer direct but cheaper flights have a short stopover
Anyone used webjet?
Anyone flown pacific blue & virgin?
