Is not a licence at all but a permit to be used with the licence from your own country in other countries that accept it. (Most)

When you drive in another country on an international permit you are driving under the same conditions as outlined on your licence from home.

If you have a car licence only, then you will have car only on your permit. So you are only licenced to drive a car on the permit overseas.

The same endorsements on your licence at home will be stamped on your international permit.

If a country you visit has only one class for all vehicles it doesn't matter, you are still driving on the same rules as your licence from home.

If you take a test in that country you do not need an international permit as you will be licenced to drive in that country anyway.

So even though children ride motorbikes in Asia,if you don't have a motorbike licence at home you cannot use an international permit to ride one in Bali or anywhere in the world.

same for all classes up to semi trailers.

You wouldn't expect to be able to drive a semi trailer around in Bali on your car licence.

So why expect to be able to ride a motor bike on your car licence?

You can rent any vehicle you like without a licence or class in most of Asia but if you get pulled up you will be fined for no licence.

If you have an accident out of class it will be deemed your fault even if it is not because you are unlicenced and you will pay all costs to all parties, plus you will not be covered by your travel insurance.
