Money xchange-I tend to stick with Kodak or other referrals off here-depends where you're staying.
Drivers- IMO I would say 300-350K. I tend to aim for 300k and then give as big a tip as I think is worthy depending on how good the driver was: friendly, good with kids etc..
Pram-I just take my trusty red Big W pram that I've travelled round the world with. It's a fold up umbrella type but still reasonably sturdy and lays right back. There's also Bali Baby hire who charge reasonably for stroller hire - post on here today re their website. This would be one less thing for you to worry about taking as you're going by yourself. I tried going w/out a pram in Dec for my 2 3/4 yr old - BIG MISTAKE! Luckily my husband came a few days later and brought mine with him.
Batering-depends how ridiculous their starting price is. I must look like a 1st timer because it's ofter waaayyyy over the top. Usually it's only a 1/3 or their price and work from there. Remember, never start bartering if you don't really want the item, keep it friendly and smiling. Ok to politely decline and walk away if you don't agree on a price. If they let you walk away then advice I've been given is that you are probably offering too low. Remember that every 10k rp is only about 1.30Au and they probably need the money more than us!
Someone will tell you how to get a rp guide thru here somewhere.
Babysitters-I've always booked thru the hotel if I've used them. Just meet with them and make sure you're happy. I've done it a few times and been happy. Usually around 30k p/hr I think.
Money belt- I would think, just try and be discreet with it. I always worry about my money but have been lucky enough not to have a problem. Usually I just throw my purse in the nappy bag so it's not obvious like carrying a handbag.
Have a great trip. I did a few days in Dec with my 2 & 5 yr old boys before my husband came. Won't say it was easy! but we managed. 2 yr old was sick from when we got there for a few days which didn't help my sanity. He also needs a pm sleep so that cut into our time but hey, at least your in Bali! We won't be there till 23rd Mar unfortunately, would have been happy to meet up with you!
I'm sure others alot more experienced than me will offer you good advice as well. Enjoy!
