and maybe the bungalows you have been quoted for are their newly renovated ones which are called "Classic"?
Here is the email I received when I booked for our friends, now bear in mind that we stayed in September and was booked in January so there is likely to be some price rise.

"Dear Karen Allen

Thank you for your message and we glad to confirm one room for Mr. Bob and Mrs Janice Capaan
for the night 27th and 28th September 2008 with rate A$.65 per night (room + breakfast).
Look forward to welcoming you and Mr/s. Capaan to Besakih.

regards
Wayan"
As I said previously you would be fine with two of the interconnecting hotel rooms on the ground floor and they are actually a bit bigger than the normal stand alone bungalows. We had bungalow number 229 and our friends had 230 (not interconnecting) and they are two of the older renovated ones (done pre 2001) that are left.
Unfortunately none of the rooms or bungalows at Besakih are on the beachfront although the restaurant and the pool are, it is only about a 60 second walk to the beach from any of the hotel rooms.
Have left my email open if I can be of any further help or maybe email you a couple of photo's of the hotel rooms or the bungalows that we had.
Karen
