"10,000 street hawkers selling time share" I doubt there is enough timeshare even in Bali to warrant 10,000 sales people. I have been living in Bali for 2 years now and have never been approached to by timeshare, that I recall.

"taking 3.5hours to go to the 'Best Elephant Park' in the world at Taro and 4hours"

I have never been to the elephant park but belive it is near Ubud. It takes me an average of 1.5/2.00 hours to drive to Ubud. It doesn't even take me 4 hours to get up to Lovina.

"In the newspaper people are dying every day from rabbies but no one seems to care"

Every day is a great exageration. There have been some deaths but yes people do care. There has been a massive culling and vacine programme by Dinas, my vet is involved so I know that they have also been working in the Nusa Dua area, so the dog numbers are surely down, rather than up there.

"every street we walked in this trip had dogdirt everywhere in Nusa Dua and Kuta"

Again I lived for one year in Nusa Dua and never noticed that dog dirt was a particular problem.
