I normally book through asia rooms and also look at ixplore and the qantas website. Due to the fact these websites got a commission for selling the accomodation, I was lucky enough to get quite a bit of a discount by emailing the hotel I wanted direcly. Works out better for them as they also get more $$$.
When you say budget, how much do they want to spend a night? Because budget and budget Bali are two different things I have found
