we stayed in lombok a couple of years back , the best way to go is fly it takes about 25mins we flew with merpati and i think the cost back then was about $150aussie return we booked from home via travel agent but you can book a flight while in bali , they have a website so maybe check prices and flight times with them . we stayed at the hoilday inn ( i think it has changed names now) which was just out of sengiggi very nice hotel the rooms where large and clean and onnthe beach( we would stay their again ) a friend stayed at the sentosa villa and spa resort right in sengiggi and said it was a nice hotel right on the beach with a hugh pool . lots of things to do in lombok we loved the gili islands great if you like to snorkle or go diving hope this helps a bit ... fiona
