Global roaming is expensive and you are charged from your mobile provider at home and the provider in Indonesia.
We buy a prepaid sim in Bali and found that to be more than adequate and cheaper than global. In most cases also cheaper than calling from a hotel where you are charged for a minimum of 3 minutes (in most hotels).
