Nah, I really enjoy staying in Tuban. I stay at the Bali Garden Hotel, it is close to waterbom park, close to the big centro shopping centre and there's some lovely restaurants around there. They've also done a walkway along the beach (which hadn't been finished when i was there in may 08) so you can walk into kuta legian seminyak if you like.
I love it, close to airport also.
