At Villa Padi. In short - we LOVED it. We had the three bedrooms villa as it we had 4 girls travelling together. It was absolutely beautiful. We only had breakfast cooked for us - they asked the night before what we wanted, omeletes, panckes etc etc and cooked it when you felt like it the next morning. Dinner was included on the night we arrived, seafood bbq. It was fine but to be honest a bit overcooked. None of us cared we were too rapt up in the accommodation. I am sure if you wanted them cook up local food for you it would be beautiful and extremely cheap. We had our laundry done there and it was the cheapest of the whole holiday. Also people came in and gave us massages etc and that was really reasonable.
The driver was included to "drive you anywhere" - no cost of petrol. All included! That was fantastic. We got him to take us into kuta one night for dinner etc and he happily waited around and got us home late at night - no worries. When we left we were heading to ubud and we assumed as our stay was finished there we would have to pay him to take us - no he insisted it was included in the cost. So we gave him a good tip.
You can walk down to the beach from the villa - around a 5 min walk. All there is around close by is really some other locals living in houses and a few more villas. It is pretty secluded. We went to the beach house canggu one night for a night out and again the driver waited no problems - we talked him into coming in and having a drink with us in the end. He was a lovely guy. The beach house wasnt far away and a great night out.
We didnt swim at the beach but there were another young couple of the smaller villa and he had a surfboard and took off each day.
For the price we thought it was great. The staff were always around but never "in your face". We arrived wondering how it was going to be and it was the nicest accomm of our whole trip. The distance from things would be the clincher but with the transport provided it really isnt an issue.
If you want any more info - post and i am happy to fill you in.
