Our daughter's fiance just arrived on a prospective marriage visa. Whe he first visited sydney it took us 4 attempts to get the 3 month tourist visa. I think the thing that got it over the line was the letter from his employer giving him the time off and a similar letter from one of the govt employees at Kuta beach. He was sponsored by my husband and myself and had letter of support from 2 other people he knew from Australia. We did not wait between applications just went one after the other adding bits they asked for. Persistance paid off.
