if I tried to sponsor a male visitor ( I was a single mother at time) we got knocked back but I had no problem sponsoring a female friend from Bali to have a holiday!! That's when we learnt I needed a married couple to sponsor my then boyfriend ( now husband) from Bali. They thought he would not return from tourist visa if I sponsored him! How funny when he doesnt ever want to live in Australia!! Also have found if it's their first trip better to apply for only one month...(often they get granted 2 months, but rarely 3 months). If your friend has not been to stay overseas before, you will most likely find they would struggle to even survive 2 months!! Nothing worse than a homesick balinese who can't live without the local food!!
