many healthy, sterilised, vaccinated, well fed dogs have also been killed. Surely as an ex-vet you do not advocate that happening? As I read it only 2 (supposedly) dogs have tested positive for rabies and with the very conflicting reports I am yet to be convinced there is conclusive evidence. If this evidence is proven (please note I said proven) then surely this could be done in a more humane manner. In the past 2 weeks many dogs have been killed, not by lethal humane injection, but by poinsoning and bludgeoning - are you also advocating this approach? Perhaps if you spent some time on the beaches caring for and treating these animals you might take a different view. If you care to go to the popular tourist beaches in the early morning you could witness both expats and local people feeding and treating these animals that you seem to find so abhorrent. An article in the Java Post in the past week describes these people and names them, unfortunately for most tourists it is written in Indoneasian. Perhaps you could donate some of your expertise to the animal charities who are in desperate need of help.
