'being neighbourly' KRUDD has offered a loan of up to 1 billion dollars to Indonesia to assist them with the financial crisis. Hell, if we are going into deficit, what's another 1 billion to a labor government?
I'm kind of torn as to how I feel about the loan. Is it just political posturing - KRUDD doing his 'good guy' routine, with no actual substance? What would happen if Indonesia took us up on the offer and couldn't pay it back? On the other hand, what would happen if the Indonesian economy collapsed and we didn't help? Still, it's an awful lot of money to give a country that is endemic with corruption.
