You could try Matahari Bungalows which is on Legian St at the Legian end of Kuta. Their rooms are about $30US a night if you book directly with them. Although it is on Legian St it is fairly quiet at the back of the property. I have always stayed in a deluxe room so I'm not sure what the standard rooms are like. Last time I was there the standard rooms were having some work done on them. I also have stayed in Bakung Sari & didn't think much of it but i have stayed in Matahari Bungalows a few times. Bathrooms are a bit tired but the room is a good size. Pool is quite big for a 2 star hotel. Check out their website, not sure if they will have rooms available on such short notice though.
