Definately contracted the virus in Bali. Ingestion of water could have been the cause (rafting etc.) but who will ever know
Spent a week in hospital on antibiotics and rehydration and no lasting symptoms.

Blood tests and stool test take about 4-5 days to culture and confirm, so even initial diagnosis may be incorrect.

Better to be safe than sorry as it's pretty easy to treat once diagnosed.

Dehydration from Typhoid is the dangerous part.

I still go to Bali each year but i have had all shots to be on the safe side.

Typhoid cases are very rare but still occur nonetheless
