Stayed at Bali Hai last year just before it closed down in a 'villa', loved it and would have stayed there again. Have stayed at Dynasty a couple of times in 05 & 06 and am staying again over Xmas, just for a couple of days tho.
We spent 9n at BGH this year in June. 1st time there and was looking for a cheaper option as all 5 of us travelling. Very good hotel overall. Don't know what it was like before but the new pools are really, really good and it has direct beach access and the view down the beach is amazing at sunset. We had 2 x I/C deluxe rooms. They are probably the worst aspect of the hotel as they are pretty run down. First look we thought ewwhh but after a couple of days didn't really notice.
B/F was pretty good. Egg lady, smallish selection of hot foods, fruit, pastries, toast & juices. You'd be hard pressed to not find something to suit.
I'm not sure that they did have happy hours, can't quite remember. I was ordering 2 cocktails at once but that was because service was a little slower than I drink them! They had a swim-up pool bar.
Overall I found the hotel a good option. Great location, beautiful grounds, the beach restaurant there near the pool is REALLY GOOD. Very reasonably priced and lots of selections.
Would definitely stay there again.
