Jayakarta! Staying there in Dec for 9n. We are staying in one of the privately owned apartments and I'm assuming (probably wrongly!) that they are further away from the problem areas you are referring to. Good tip about the pool. We have to be careful with our 2yr old, can't get any water in his ears so he has plugs and an ear wrap but would still need to be careful. He needs to see his specialist if he gets an ear infection and that won't be possible while we're away! Never had trouble with the kids ears in Bali before but I think I'll put plugs in the older one's ears as well. Dr doesn't recommend aquaear for the 2yr old so we'll just have to be careful I guess.
