I was at the Ramayana this year for Nyepi and would never go to Kuta again at that time. The day after Nyepi there is a large market on Kuta beach, mainly for locals, but tourists do go. if you do watch out for pickpockets. I was warned about going there alone. Most of the shops around Kuta were closed for 3 days. It turned out to be funny to watch the tourists (obviously like me who didn't know everything would be closed) wandering around like lost sheep. If you are there at that time make sure you stock up on water, nibbles etc. Hotels will have meals, but what they provide will depend on the level of the hotel. Also there is to be no lighting so some hotels will have dinner early, ie before the sun goes down. A torch is also handy. I was in Sanur for Nyepi last year and cannot remember their shops being closed ofr 3 days. Cheers, Stormy
