Just had the experience of staying at Febris Hotel and Day Spa in Tuban. Well, firstly the prices jumped by 50% for Idul Fitri, this was the excuse they gave as the DOMESTIC market is very important at this time, unfortunately there was only one family staying during this period. Almost all others were Aussies. When one worked out he rates even at 7200idr it equates to $83 per night, which I believe to be excessive for a two to three star.
Now when the dollar did a runner the cost immediately went to $104 per night. You must be joking.
2. I also noticed that the food and drink menu had risen by more than 30% and a basic hamburger was more expensive than in Australia.
3. I also noticed that the massages and reflexology had increased by 50% since my last visit.
4. On speaking to staff I was informed that their wages had not risen significantly over the past two months.
5. It would appear to me that the hotel management is ripping off all and sundry especially Aussie travellers.
I have heard many say that it is still a cheap holiday, well I now beg to differ.
the booze is almost as expensive as aussie
the food is as expensive as aussie (and dont say find a cheap restaurant as they all should be)
the accomodation is as expensive as aussie especially during IDUL FITRI, which I deem the money making period.
Just some advice to you lovers of Febris/Green Garden/Green Garden Resort, you will get no favours from the management and there are better value places to stay that is for sure. I am totally disgusted and my wife who once loved the place would not go back if it was the last hotel in Bali. GREED WILL BE THEIR DOWNFALL
