Hi, I got an anz travel card for a similar reason. I think it cost about $10, you get 2 cards and I think they are valid for 2 years. You can top them up using bpay as often as required. You can send your friend one and keep the other, you can activate the card once you know your friend has received it and also select a pin for her (which you can change at anytime on internet banking). The cost per transaction from an ATM in bali is around $3.50, every time my friend has used the card the exchange rate has been better than on the street. You can get these cards from most ANZ branches, just need to show ID, hope this helps.
