Went to Renmark PO today to find out re sending some money to a friend in Lovina(really needs it for her baby eh?). Learnt that it would cost me $20Aud to send it via Western Union - something to do with exchange? Now if I sent her $50 Aud for instance, at an exchange rate of 6380 rp, she'd only get 300,000 + rupiahs!(I think thats what the PO lady said - or am I going deaf in my old age? - 60yrs young on Monday) Anyway, I nearly fell over backwards, and said I will not be sending money via Western Union until the exchange rate changes!
Is it better to wait until the exchange rate gets better, or hide a $50 somewhere in a parcel of baby clothes for her new baby, due this week or thereabouts? Or is that taking too much of a chance? Please give me good thoughts, and don't flame me for asking this question, ok? Cheers Cheryl
