Ian, we usually stay at the MBR in September but couldn't get a booking this year. We stayed elsewhere but visited reception at MBR to inquire about a booking for April/May 2009. We were given a similar quote to your email rate. We were told that they were currently full and 85% of residents were from Oz. It seems that Aussies do not mind paying the almost 100% increases. However with the current dive in the AUD$, US$95 per night is converting to about AUD$120. If this continues the MBR may price itself out of its niche market.
