I am not sure if you had an experience living in the remote area of Indonesia. I have. From Northern part of Sumatera to Western Java where females and males are allowed to have a shower in one area. To me it is a traditional life style. This is the same case with Bali, especially in the villages. By the way a traditional penis guard in Irian Jaya is called KOTEKA.
