Have stayed at the BGH too but thank goodness it was only for the 1 night - just my opinion. The Patra is a 5 star resort at the 3 star price. Loved it! We're going try out Kuta Royal Villas next trip, otherwise we'd be back.
My 2 older boys did make use of the kids club but it was very, very quiet although I must admit that the staff members were lovely. Boys spent most of their time beside the pool - grab a cabana and relax.
Most of our time was spent out and about, so if we weren't beside the pool, we were either out or in bed asleep. Didn't get to try out the Resort Spa but did check out the pricelist - bit steep!! Same with food...we ate out most of the time anyway. Make the most of the beach girls. They do the best massages, pedicures and manicures. Can buy most things from them too. Otherwise Green Garden Spa do a free pick up and return Tel: 361 765333.
Catch a bluebird to Pepito Supermarket (Jl.Kediri 36A, Tuban)for your supplies as it's only a 5 min drive away. They also have Bakers Corner - Yumm. You could walk but I wouldn't want to lug everything back.
From Patra to SA Cafe on Jl. Wana Segara - about 10 mins along the beach and yes it's about 20 mins to Centro (only did this once because a taxi was only about 15,000rp). Don't forget that there is also a free shuttle - just make sure that you book early.
I'm surprised that Qantas' package doesn't include breakfast. Have you checked with other TA? Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay - absolutely fabulous and definately worthwhile.
PS Email Ratna at the Patra - ratna_indah@patra-jasa.com and request room 436 or 431 as they are the closest of the Deluxe Suites to the main foyer and especially the pool. The Deluxe Suites come with 2 Balconys. There's a small temple just outside the room which is great for observing early morning traditions and an excellent photo op. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
Cheers. You'll love it!
