The Deluxe Rooms are on the bottom and the Deluxe Suites (including the rooms I mentioned)are at the top which means that they may be a problem for your husband. We too have active kids (all three of them)and we kept the sliding doors to the balcony locked if we weren't out there with them.
Have you made any enquiries about the Embassy Suites as I have been told that they are 2 story Suites? A little more pricey but for peace of mind...
Re Kids Club. It's a really, really big resort. We weren't too far away from the kids club but rooms 497-502 are directly opposite (a bit further away from the pool area, foyer and brekky but you could always hitch a ride on a golf buggy.
