Now ventured out the Bali safari and Marine Park and to be honest I enjoyed it however all my fellow travellers hated it. We headed out early as suggested on the forum and it was already very packed not a long drive it's located just near karamus for any surfers! I had an awful mixture of morning sickness travel sickness so had to stop for some discrete pit stops along the way.

First tip - make sure you grab a map at the entrance and listen to the directions it will save you much time and tolerance.

We had to wait about 20 minutes in the sun to pat the baby orang-utan; it wasn't really a chore it was so delightful to watch it interacting especially with the younger children although I had to manage my impatient toddler myself. I began to think I would rather an orang-utan (...). Finally our turn and wow talk about having a moment, it was dreamy the baby was so gorgeous, it snuggled and played and oh it was defiantly a highlight in my life, it was so fleeting though. Lucky I got lots of pics to assist my memory. The orangs treatment sparked much debate amongst our groups of cruelty etc I kind of thought well if its bringing money into conservation it is worth it and what I read from the website it is a legitimate conservation park.

Followed the very slow throngs of tourists onto the some kind of show with poodles I think, kept moving trying to beat the crowds not sure if it was the heat however everyone seemed in a daze which really began to bother me as I wanted to zoom around to the exciting bits.

The not so small lion was sleeping which sparked more debates of drugging my opinions was that it was just hot and this is what lions do in the day time , be sleepy and lazy.

Moved onto the baby tiger wow cute, smaller than ones I have played with in Thailand, very hot and sweaty in this enclosure , I had a little pat of the tiger whilst the keepers were not looking and I swear he tried to bite me oh well my own fault I guess, still very cute.

Moved speedily around to some strange elephant show then decided again to beat the crowds headed to the safari trek, this was a highlight, began to feel slightly disgruntled when we were shown the Balinese cow!!! But then the Hippos where very impressive, loved the design although still very new on the whole safari bit. Loved the cute jokes of the guides. Loved going through the water etc and the little one really enjoyed it zooming from each side of the truck to see well.

My fellow travellers where tired and grumpy at this point, disembarked and made our way to a fairly dismal lunch. And then another highlight although I must say probably the worlds ugliest water park. Didn't stop my little boy he loved it zooming down all the slides and exploring all the bits and pieces. Hint two some of the slides are hazardous for adults ( probably common sense for some however I was slightly dazed with heat stroke and as I was zooming down husband shouts watch your back, as he had just scraped it all on the bottom of the pool , avoid the fast slides )

Overall I enjoyed it is very new, a little sparse, you shouldn't compare it to other worldly zoos like Singapore however by Bali standards it is very good. Hint three- My opinion is perhaps to go after lunch as when we were leaving it was dead quiet. !!!my counterparts didn't enjoy the crowds , felt it was poorly signed, too expensive, where too hot, and couldn't get past the hoards of Bali bogans shall I call them with braids, toughen up princess shorts, smokes and bintangs in hands etc in large groups burping and yelling around the park. I could see past this for the highlights noted above.

Ok more restaurants

Rumours, this was a friends suggestions eaten here a few times over the years, never enjoyed it but this time hated it, too loud, too squashed in and food just ok. Friends love it though.

Went to Kori now this place is consistent for the last 10 years I have ordered the same Thai green curry and it is repeated fantastic love it love it

Friends dinned at Warung Asia fantastic cheap but very very busy.

Husband surfing nusa dua again its been Epic apparently (...), im heading up to the Enchanted Book and Toy shop to get some cute kids toys (...).
