Holidayed in Bali 9th -23rd July, never used credit card to purchase anything nor transact at ATMs. Only place where card was produced was at our hotel, where they "required" evidence of a credit card account.
The card was never out of my sight whislt they recorded details.
My bank has today advised me that the card has been skimmed and is being used in South East Asia. After confirming my details my bank (CBA)has stopped the card immediately and arranged issue of new cards.
Transactions were picked up as part of the banks E-crime security section. Luckily I'm not liable for any of the transactions. On this occassion a pat on the back for the bank and its security monitoring procedures.
Lesson here is dont allow access to your credit card to anyone even in the hotels. From now on I'm going to state I dont have any credit cards when checking in.
I'm not going to name the hotel but its 5 star, on the beach and located in Legian.
