JBR 25.08 TO 05.09
Total of 17 people flew out of Perth bound for Bali on Garuda 7.15am flight
Just a large group of friends and kids, 12 of the group were first timers, we were expecting 2 more friends to arrive on the afternoon flight the next day from Melbourne.
We had organised prior to arrival a 3 vans for the pricey sum of 300,000r in total, Had we paid for transfers this would have amounted to 1,200,000r . A nice saving of 900,000 to be better spent later.

Flight was uneventful apart from one of the tv screens loading and unloading from the ceiling of the aircraft several times during the flight. We arrived and were quickly on our way to VOA and Customs
All without a hitch. But how come we always end up in the slow
lane ????

We had advised our friends to watch out for the Porters but to no avail - their very official uniforms had them fooled. What no Rup ? Let me introduce you to the money changer they had not gone more than 50 m and were paying for the privilege . First-timers !!!

Our driver was holding up a sign with my name on so we were quickly rounded up and moved to the side whilst the 3rd van was yet to arrive. We were through Customs and VOA in less than 20 minutes - gee you got to love the morning flight
All crammed into the 3 vans plus luggage & boards or the trip to the Kumala Pantai, all the rooms worked out and we were off following the porters to the new S block. We had nearly the whole top floor to ourselves.
What a delight this hotel is, we had not stayed at the KP before but has seen it on the net and eaten at the restaurant. We overlooked the new pool and pool bar, what a view. This block faces east so it was a great place to meet in the afternoon for a few drinks out of the sun.
We ate at the restaurants along the beach right out the beach end of the hotel - Lanai, Zanzibar Sunsets and the Hotel restaurant .

With a total of 19 people now, we had to book earlier in the day to where we wanted to eat - took some of the spontaneity out of eating. We also went to Legends and Goshas - these 2 were the best nights, Legends for the entertainment and Goshas as an old favourite which has never let us down.

Money changers were used up and down the street but you soon found out which ones to bypass even one on Jalan Legian which I thought was a bank I was nearly ripped off... But always ask for large notes - if they don't have them go elsewhere. They often have a friend who comes in and tries to talk to you as your concentrating on your money so always have another person go with you. 1 place tried to scam us with small notes which he palmed into the draw as we counted the next bundle but alas we were too quick and just walked out.
