I just stayed at the Padma in May...Garden Club Chalet rooms. I really loved this hotel...great location, huge pool and beautiful gardens. I was there with 15 other girls so didn't really pay much attention to the kids activities and honestly, didn't see too many kids there. The Garden Club Chalet rooms give you access to the 'Club' which has free internet, soffee, tea, snacks during the day and then a happy hour from 5-7PM. I think the Club is abit over rated for the extra cost but as we were a group I thought it would be a good place to meet at the end of the day. That never really did happen though as there were never enough seats for all of us.
A question for you now. We are coming back to Bali next March with 2 other familes and are looking for a each hotel. I haven't stayed at the Patra before but did look at it last year and thought it looked great. I am abit concerned about the location but more than that, I wondered what the beach is like there. We are from Canada and live about 1200 kilometers from the closest ocean so it's really nice on holidays to be at a nice beach. Any thoughts on this???
