Indonesian rupiah is based on US$ rate. So if the AUD rate is a lot lower than the US$ rate is now you will benefit by changing to US$ now.
If you change your money to US$ and the AUD=US remains the same you have made no difference.
If the AUD goes down between buying US$ and changing to rupiah you make a profit.
Therefore if you think the AUD$ will drop compared to the US$ then buy now.
I believe it will drop but that's only my opinion (and some other financial people).
